Microsoft Teams Up With Facebook To Make Bing A Social Search

Microsoft and Facebook announced a partnership on Wednesday which will give Software Giant anaccess to public Facebook data to show it as part of Bing search result.
For example if a user will search on Bing for information about a movie, he/she will get related links shared by his/her friends in Facebook in addition to regular web search result. With the merger, the two companies intend to fight a common enemy: Google.Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, noted that the action announced on Wednesday only deepened the partnership with Microsoft. In 2007, Microsoft paid $240 million for $1.8% stakes of the social network. Since then, the two companies worked together for multiple features of their products.
