50th birthday of The Flintstones: What you should know?

September 30th, 2010EntertainmentThe prime time cartoon series ‘The Flintstones’ is celebrating its 50th birthday today. The program, which was initially targeted for adult audiance, changed its target audiance to children after two seasons.
The series was aired on U.S. ABC channel from 1960 and it was one of the most popular cartoon series until 1977 when other show beat it.
The series had 166 chapters and its last episode was aired on April 1, 1966. The show’s success was so great that turned out to be broadcast in prime time!
It is estimated that over 300 million people in 80 countries watched the adventures of Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty. The series that goes on for 10,000 years, during the age of stone, is still transmitted in several countries for thousands of people.
