May 21st, 2010Advertising, Cellular, Google, Tech IndustryThe Trade Commission today unanimously approved the acquisition of AdMob by Google, in an operation of 750 million dollars.
The request was approved after the Commerce Commission has rejected U.S. allegations that this operation can reduce competitiveness in the market.
“In addition, a number of firms appear to be developing or acquiring smartphone platforms to better compete against Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android, and these firms would have a strong incentive to facilitate competition among mobile advertising networks,” Washington Post quoted the commission’s statement.
