Verizon Wireless is reportedly promoting its Motorola Droid 2 Global on its customer service 800 number. The network plays the Droid 2 Global advertisement when the wireless customers are placed on hold while being served by customer care representative of the wireless carrier.

Interestingly, according to Erictric, Droid 2 Global ad claims that the phone comes with “the ability to make calls in more than 221 countries”.  All little research on Wikipedia tells that as of 2010 there are only 203 countries in the world.  The network seems to including the dependent territories in the count to boast the Motorola Droid 2 Global.
