The California city, San Francisco, has approved the law which will require cell phone makers to post the “specific absorption rate” (SAR) or level of radiation emit for each model, according to PC World.
According to report, there are inconclusive studies which are suggesting the possibility of brain cancer due to prolonged exposure to cell phone radiation. The report also quoted the details from Federal Communication Commission (FCC) website about the ongoing studies that ”there is no scientific evidence to date that proves that wireless phone usage can lead to cancer or a variety of other health effects”.
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who is the supporter of the law, is expected to sign the ordinance into law.
