Bust Buy has also come up with the announcement that it will have one of the most popular e-reading devices in its nationwide retail stores this year. “There’s no question that e-readers have found their rightful place in today’s digital lifestyle,” Chris Homeister, senior vice president of Best Buy, was quoted by AFP.
Amazon recently released low-price Kindle 3 with great success. Even before the launch of Kindle 3, the e-reading device has remained Amazon’s #1 bestselling item for two years. Amazon claims that Kindle is the most wished, most-gifted on the Amazon store.
Some believe that Amazon Kindle might not remain the bestselling item on Amazon store as consumers will now have other options to buy the device. Amazon Kindle is currently only available through Amazon’s worldwide online stores. -
September 11th, 2010Android, Tech IndustryAccording to multiple reports, Samsung is talking with major wireless carrier of United States including Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint for the possible launch of Samsung Galaxy Tab. Repots also suggest that Samsung plan to release the Galaxy Tab in the New York even on September 16 event.
Samsung wants to compete with Apple with its new tablets and plans to take some tablet market share from Apple iPad. Samsung Galaxy Tab is powered by Android 2.2 which is the latest version of Google Mobile OS. The tablet computer has 1.0 GHz Cortex A8 processor. It has smaller display size of 7.0 inches as compared to that of Apple iPad.Samsung first showed the Galaxy Tab in IFA trade show in Berlin. The computer attracted headlines in major news outlets as soon as Samsung unveiled it about two weeks ago. Amazon Germany is selling 17.8cm Samsung Galaxy Tab for 799 euros.

September 8th, 2010Tech Industry, e-ReadersLooks like Amazon Kindle is more preferred over Apple shiny iPad. Though Apple could have thousands of application and when it comes to competition with Amazon kindle in the eBook area, iPad is less desirable than Kindle.
Recently new studies came out that shows that majority of people prefer Kindle over iPad. However, the majority also said that iPad is “more compelling” due to its multitasking features.
The studies was done by One News Page which asked questions to about 1000 people in UK and US readers about their preference for e-book reader.“The e-book has come of age. The Kindle has built a strong position as a specialist e-reader. Its new version is considerably cheaper and lighter than the iPad, which may explain why two thirds of our users preferred it to the iPad as an e-reader,” said Dr Marc Pinter-Krainer, CEO of One News Page.
He further said “it’s clear the iPad as an e-book platform is already giving Amazon a stiff challenge and there’s everything to play for as Apple only launched the iPad in March this year.”Amazon recently announced that its new device is the bestselling item on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. To expand the availability of its brand, Amazon has signed an agreement with staples to sell Kindle in its 1500 stores in North America.

Verizon Wireless first used the iPhone 4 antenna issue to take on Apple when the Droid X ad said that the Droid X owners can hold it the way they want it. After Steve Jobs announced the free iPhone 4 case, new Droid X poster came on the surface which said “No Jacket Required.”

September 4th, 2010Tech IndustryGoogle made the headlines today by changing the logo on its homepage with buckyball Google Doodle. Today is the 25th birthday of Buckyball which was discovered in 1985 by scientists in Rice University.
Buckyball, which was created by Richard Smalley, Robert Curl, James Heath, Sean O’Brien, and Harold Kroto, is considered as one of the chemistry break through. It was given name after Richard Buckminster Fuller, an American chemist.
Google has been surprising its users multiple times by honoring different things using the Google Doodle. Google has celebrated Chinese new year, Soccer World Cup, Valentine day the Doodle. Recently Google honored PAC MAN game by adding the fully functional game as Google Doodle.

September 3rd, 2010Tech IndustryVerizon iPhone was not made it to the conference on last Wednesday. It looks like Apple is not ready to release its Verizon iPhone. Many of analysts are thinking that Verizon iPhone is not going to hit market before 2011. It makes sense since Apple is already facing receptions problems in its current iPhone 4 and launching new iPhone in this scenario will not be a wise decision. Also It looks like Verizon is not in urgency mode to have iPhone on its network since its Droid brand is doing extremely well and the company will not want iPhone to create competition among its already successful phones on its network.
Meanwhile, Apple introduced to the world its new generation of iPods in its San Francisco. The company has sold 275 million iPods since its launch in 2001.
Apple announced its new iPod Touch with frontal and back ward camera that allows user to run FaceTime similar to iPhone 4. The 8GB model will cost $ 229, the 32GB will cost $ 299 and 64GB for $ 399.
Apple completely reshaped the Nano with smaller touch screen and has FM radio feature. A version Shuffle, the simplest of models, will have the possibility to create playlists, capacity of 15 hours of music and will be sold in five colors. The price is $ 49.

Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, unveiled number of entertainment related products including iPhone Touch 4G, Apple TV and iTunes 10 in the music-themed event. There was also a good news for iPhone 4 and iPad owners because Apple also released the new update IOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS). The IOS 4.1 has Game Center, iTunes TV shows rental and iTunes Ping. “Experience social gaming on your iPod touch. Find friends or use auto-match to play multiplayer games against new opponents” Apple website says about IOS 4.1 Game Center feature. It is believed that if Apple launched White iPhone 4 and Verizon iPhone sometime in the near future than it will have IOS 4.1 as default OS.
The Apple conference was disappointing to million of people who were hoping for Verizon iPhone or White iPhone 4 rollout in this event. Steve Jobs, who is very aware of Verizon iPhone demand, didn’t say one sentence about the possible launch of iPhone on Verizon Wireless network. On the other hand, white iPhone 4 demand is reaching it limits because it is now 2.5 months since Apple unveiled forth-generation iPhone.
Meanwhile, new iPod touch has gained A4 Chip, Retina display, Game Center, Gyro over the previous version.

In the last hour or so, we are witnessing crazy rumors flying over the Internet. Some are suggesting that Verizon iPhone will be launched during the event. Well, it will be heartbreaking for some fans for Verizon iPhone but I think I need to let you know the fact that Verizon iPhone is not coming in this event. However, We will see for sure new iPod Touch 4. Still many of analysts disagree with what features will be included in the new device. Some are suggesting that new iPod will come with frontal camera that will allow users to make video conferencing. User can also run the application of FaceTime.
Along with new iPod, There are speculations that Apple will roll out its new revamped TV sytem that will allow users to rent TV episode for $.99 and hold it on their machine for 48 hours.
As far as live streaming of Apple event is concerned, Apple will broadcast live its event on internet only for for Mac users, iPod touch and IPAD. You need check out some streaming website such as Justin and Ustream for live streaming . I am sure you will find one there as I am going to look for one for myself.
