Some may be thinking that comparing HP Slate 500 with Apple MacBook Air is just like comparing Apples and Oranges. However, there are many similarities in two different computers. First of all, both HP Slate 500 and Apple MacBook Air are designed to attract business users therefore both devices are competing with each other.
Another common thing in two devices is that both are powered by Desktop Operating System. Even though HP Slates 500 comes in the category of tablet computer but it is powered by Windows 7 with desktop OS. Similarly MacBook Air is powered by Mac OS X which also the desktop operating system.Last but now least, both HP Slate 500 and MacBook Air are designed to be considered as the replacement of Netbook computer. The category of Netbook computers was one of most lucrative in the shopping season of 2009.

Apple surprised the tech industry after it shiped the MacBook Air notebook computer without Adoble Flash Plugin. Tech Gurus started to speculate that California based Apple Inc. is stopping the support of popular Adobe Flash in the desktop and laptop computers. Apple don’t support Flash in its iOS based devices including iPhone, iPod and iPad.
Apple released an statement after the speculation that it didn’t pre-install the Flash plugin in MacBook Air because it want users to install the latest version of the software. Apple also said that Apple will not pre-install in all future version of mac computers. “We’re happy to continue to support Flash on the Mac, and the best way for users to always have the most up to date and secure version is to download it directly from Adobe.” Bill Evans, Apple Spokesman, was quoted by Ericric. -

Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, launched 11 inch and 13 inch MacBook Air in the event. The company also announced Mac OS X Lion as next version of the Mac operating system. Steve Jobs also unveiled the iLife ’11 suite in the event.
In addition to the latest event, user can also watch other event including the iPod Touch 4G and iPhone 4 launch on the website.

October 3rd, 2010ComputersRIM, the maker of Blackberry branded smartphones, unveiled its first tablet computer called Playbook. As expected, everyone thought Playbook is RIM’s attempt to bring Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab killer. eWeek, the respected technology news magazine, reported that Playbook doesn’t have enough applications and content to give the hard time to iPad. However, the website expected that Playbook will come up as an business or enterprise tablet. It is good place to note here both Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab has not enjoyed the vast acceptable in the enterprise world.

Apple has released the second beta of Mac OS 10.6.5 for developers. The version will reportedly be called 10.6 when it will be ready to be available for everyone. California based Apple has updated the Operating System with new features to make it more complete OS. According to MacRumors.com, Apple has updated iCal, 3D Graphics, Mail, Quick Time, Time Machine and USB Devices.

Apple had reportedly seeded last build of Mac OS X 10.6.5 on September 14. The new build (Build 10H548) comes two weeks after last version (Build 10H542) was released.
The release date of Mac OS X 10.6 is not known. It is about 15 months since last major version of Mac OS X was released by Apple.

September 26th, 2010ComputersEven though Research In Motion, the maker of Blackberry products, has not confirmed the possible release of Blackberry Tablet but it is commonly known after WSJ report that Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab competitor is coming soon.
No just we know that RIM plans to launch its tablet but we also know that the specification of the future tablet computer, thanks to Wall Street Journal.
Like Galaxy Tab, RIM’s Blackberry Tablet will have 7-inch touch screen and at least one built in camera. It doesn’t mean that Blackberry Tablet will be same as Galaxy Tab. Unlike Galaxy Tab, the device will only support the connection to cellular network though another Blackberry device.Blackberry Tablet will be smaller than Apple iPad as Apple tablet has 9-inch touch screen. Like Apple iPad, Blackberry Tab is mainly targeted to business users.

Samsung released the Galaxy Tab early this month. The device immediately received a lot of media attention after the company executive unveiled it in the technology conference in Berlin . Technology critics also wasted no time to give positive reviews to the new Apple iPad competitor.
PC World, however, took different side today as the magazine listed five reasons of why people should not buy Samsung Galaxy Tab as compared to Apple iPad. The magazine considered different features of Galaxy Tab to come to the conclusion against Samsung Tablet.The magazine pointed out that iPad display size is much bigger than that of Galaxy Tab. The article also noted that Apple device has sharper resolution of 1024 x 768 which is better than 1024 x 600 of Galaxy Tab. PC World also noted that the battery life of iPad is much better as compared to that of Samsung device. The requirement of contract with wireless carrier to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab was also one of the reasons to avoid the tablet.
Even though Samsung has not announced the price of the Galaxy Tab in U.S. but it is easy to predict that Galaxy Tab will be more expensive than iPad considering the price of the device in UK and Germany.
